How to get Announcements On-Line from The CPM Weekly Update.

All news and announcements now are published first in the CPM weekly update. This email newsletter is published each Monday every week. Detailed descriptions of new lectures, exhibitions, classes, awards and the-like are then posted on this CPM web site to facilitate registrations and communication among members and interested visitors.

If you are new to this web site and/or have never have seen or received the CPM Weekly Update, feel free to send an email to:

CPM Strategic Plan April 2011

At the member's annual meeting on Saturday, April 16, 2011, Chris Spencer presented the outlines of the Strategic Plan that the CPM board had been working on for many months.

CPM Announcement for February 9th, 2011.

The CPM Annual Members Exhibition will be held March 7th to April 4th at UW Hospitals and Clinics. The viewing area is in the Surgery Waiting Room. Any member can hang one image at no cost, buy you have to register you image soon. Please check the CPM weekly update or the CPM Exhibits listing on the CPM web site for details.

The Opening Reception for the Members Show will be Sunday March 13, from 1-3 PM.

New Photography Classes Announced for Winter-Spring Semester.
 
The complete roster of Photography Classes Offered this semester is now posted on the CPM Classes Website. http://www.cpmad.org/classes 
 
Several new classes have been added since our last announcement. You can get more information about all the classes and also download the registration materials needed to register from our web site.
 
Several classes are filled or almost filled. Send an email to: classes@cpmad.org  to check if there is still space in a class you are interested in. 
 
CPM Photography Classes Offered this Semester are:
 
1. Everything you forgot (or didn’t learn the first time). Tom McInvaille, Instructor. Starts: January 25th.
 
2. The Artist Within; Developing a Signature Style. Don Mendenhall, Instructor. Starts: February 7th.
 
3. Women in Photography - Then and Now. Patricia Delker, Instructor.  Starts: March 14th.
 
4. Adobe Lightroom for Beginners: An Introduction to Organizing and Developing Digital Images. Nick Wilkes, Instructor. Starts March 15th.
 
5. How to Get Better Photos from Your Digital SLR. John Lorimer, Instructor. Second session begins April 19th. (First session began on Jan 10th and is filled).
 
6. Adobe Lightroom: Digital Asset Management, Workflow, and Image Development for Intermediate Users. Nick Wilkes, Instructor. Starts: April 11th.
 
7. Night Photography: Experimenting with Creative Light Sources. Hillary Quella, Instructor. Workshop on Friday, May 6 at 7PM.

CPM Announcements for January 10th, 2011

 

Tom McInvaille will teach a new class entitled, "Everything You Forgot (or Didn't Learn the First Time)".
 
The classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 7-9PM beginning January 25th and will run for 4 weeks. 
 
This class is for photographers who want to re-examine (or re-learn) their photographic technique and re-assess their artistic goals. Near-beginners, those returning to the field, and more experienced photographers seeking a better understanding of photography are all welcome. A wide range of topics will be covered at a quick pace. 
 
Instructor: Tom McInvaille is a professional photographer who has been involved in the teaching of photography for about 30 years. His work is shown internationally and included in several institutional collections.

Mail-in Registrations are being accepted now. You can download the registration form from the CPM web site, complete the form and mail it along with your check to the CPM PO Box address provided. 
Be sure to send an email indicating you intend to register to: classes@cpmad.org . The class will be limited to 12 students and your email enables us to reserve a seat in the class for you.

CPM Announcements for November 24, 2010

CPM Holiday Party and Raffle Dec. 4

Join us on Saturday, Dec. 4 for the new CPM Holiday Party and Raffle. This family-friendly event will feature Gaelic music by the Mossman Trio, last seen - and heard - at the opening of HHFastForward at the Historical Museum.

There will be desert-style treats and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments. We will debut the soon-to-be-famous CPM bucket raffle, with chances to win gift certificates, flash drives, memory cards, and other great prizes. You also will be able to bid on "a day in the field" with several CPM photographers during our silent auction.

Join us on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 6:30 to 9 PM at the CPM Studio, 303 S. Paterson in Madison. This is our annual fundraiser and all proceeds will go to support CPM programming.
